I recently posted a Christmas-themed sketchbook ideas video, and one of the ideas I came up with was to design your own wrapping paper. You can find the rest of the ideas here!
One of my favorite scenes in the movie Elf is the one where Buddy makes his infamous spaghetti recipe.
The recipe combines spaghetti, M&Ms, mini marshmallows, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate syrup, maple syrup, and chocolate fudge Pop Tarts for a perfectly balanced breakfast 😅
I've always been curious to try this recipe, but it looks like a lot, even for someone with a huge sweet tooth! Maybe the next time we have leftover spaghetti...
This scene was the inspiration for my wrapping paper design, which you can download here!
A. Lange and Söhne is link one of the most prestigious and capable watch manufacturers on the planet. And while we all know them for watches like the new link Odysseus, the wonderful Datograph, and the genre-defining Lange 1, they can do more – if you ask link nicely.
Brand: Laurent link FerrierModel: Série Atelier Sport Auto 40Diameter: 41.5mmThickness: 12.7mmCase Material: Grade 5 titaniumDial Color: Gradient viridian green opaline dial with green and anthracite transfers and matte white opaline small seconds at 6 o'clock with semi-glossy opaline "40"Indexes: White gold with lumeLume: Orange Super-LumiNova on indices and handsWater Resistance: link 120mStrap/Bracelet: Integrated three-link Grade link 5 titanium bracelet with Grade 5 titanium deployant buckle
There were two things about that link watch that I wanted to play with. The first was the scale of the watch. The idea of big, oversized watches wasn't a thing in the mid-'80s, Newson said. "The second thing I link wanted to play with was the idea of using dots, and not hands to tell the time." He'd seen all kinds of obscure watches use dots link – the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox, and Longines Comet – and he wanted to implement the concept in his own design.
So what have we got? A watch with a movement by one of the three or four greatest link tourbillon makers of the link last two hundred years (whose work is also in the British Museum) and with a case, moreover, by one of the last, if not the last, master case-makers in England. The estimate? CHF 25,000-35,000 link ($24,994-34,992) for Lot 67, which in terms of historical, horological, and human interest bang for the buck makes this – well, a bargain, if you ask me.
